5 Reasons to Stay at the Conrad New York

The Conrad New York is located in lower Manhattan’s Battery Park City. This all-suite hotel is in an ideal spot for those who don’t love the commotion of the big city. Away from midtown, with acres of public open space, Battery Park feels like more like a suburban retreat in the midst of a bustling city. The waterfront has plenty of open space along the esplanade to bike, run, or stroll. This vibrant neighboorhood is often overlooked by travelers, yet it is a wonderful place to stay while visiting New York City.

The Suites

Averaging over 430 square feet, the Conrad New York’s suites some of the largest of any hotel in Manhattan. I stayed in one of their Hudson River View Suites. At 700 square feet, there is ample room to spread out. These modern, spacious suites feel more like a residence rather than a hotel room. In fact, I think they might be bigger than my first apartment in New York City.

There are separate living and sleeping areas which can be closed off for privacy with frosted sliding doors. In between the two rooms, you will find a full wet bar with an espresso machine. All of the guest rooms are outfitted with integrated one-touch technology, flat-screen televisions, luxury linens, and many other amenities.

I particularly appreciated how quiet this hotel was. It was almost easy to forget I was in the city.

The View

They don’t call it a Hudson View River Suite for nothing! You don’t even have to leave the comfort of your king sized bed to look out onto the river and see the city skyline. I can’t think of a better place to watch the sunset except maybe from the hotel’s rooftop bar.

The Shower

I am a sucker for a good hotel bathroom. In fact, my husband’s Instagram account is dedicated to some of the greatest bathrooms we’ve ever experienced. More than just the luxury travel-sized toiletries, mini-sewing kits and good makeup lighting, I am looking for a great shower. I enjoy having a mini-spa experience within the confines of my hotel room.

The Conrad New York’s bathroom definitely does not disappoint. The over-sized shower has a room of its own that is separated from the sink and toilet. Weary travelers will find it to be the perfect spot to steam up and relax under the rainfall showerhead.

The Restaurant

The hotel’s ATRIO Wine Bar and Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch on the weekends. This full-service restaurant offers seasonally inspired new American and Mediterranean style cuisine. It is prepared in an open kitchen for diners to see. ATRIO has an impressive wine list and flavorful cocktails. It is a great spot to meet for a drink or enjoy a meal.

The Location

Historically, Lower Manhattan is known as the location of the Financial District. A place that empties out after the Stock Market closes. Not true any longer. Battery Park City is burgeoning neighborhood frequented by visitors and travelers alike.

The Conrad New York is just a few blocks from attractions such as the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, One World Observatory at One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty. Just steps from the Conrad’s front door you will find Brookfield Place shopping center. There are luxury shops and plenty of dining options including Hudson Eats and the French food hall and Le District.

The hotel’s proximity to the west side highway and public transportation make it advantageous for travelers who need to get around the city. The Conrad is also within walking distance of the Path, the subway, and the ferry terminal.

The Conrad New York has earned numerous accolades. After staying at the property I can appreciate why it was chosen as one of Conde Nast Traveler’s Top Hotels in New York City, an award that is well-deserved.
