This weekend it is all about Winter Fairs and Festivals so get your coats and mittens and get on out there!

Saturday, Colchester head to the High School for Winter Carnival. There will be a variety of indoor and outdoor programs to choose from, great performances and hands-on activities are planned throughout the day.

Out in Waterbury it is the Snowshoe Festival. Meet up at the Green Mountain Club for snowshoe demos, guided snowshoe tours, indoor and outdoor crafts, naturalist walks, dog sled demos, face painting and s’mores by the campfire. And did we mention massages in the visitors center?!

The Island of Pond is also holding their annual Winter Carnival on Saturday. There will be ice skating, bonfires, a snow sculpture competition, a wiffle ball tournament, sugar on snow, a snowmobile parade and a cardboard sled race.

In Montpelier it is the first annual MontPolar Frostival.  It will feature both indoor and outdoor activities. On the State House lawn in the afternoon there will be free snowshoes available for all ages to try, plus your choice of an easy walk or an exciting snowshoe obstacle course!

And last but not least, It is the Burlington Winter Festival.  Head down to the waterfront for a snow carving competition, the penguin plunge, make your own crepes and the Family Activity Expo at ECHO and free wagon rides.

Make sure to stop by and see Miss Magpie at the Winter Family Expo at ECHO. She will be there with Hyperfocus Art doing some very special face painting for the kids!
