Cape Cod

Cape Cod, MA is just under 6 hours from Burlington, VT. That makes it an ideal location for a summer beach vacation with families. The last week in June 2013, we used Homeaway to rent a perfectly appointed property in Orleans, MA. Nausset beach was almost at our doorstep and the Master bedroom had ocean views. It fit our two families of four just perfectly for a week.

The bay side offered beaches like Skaket. When the tide went out it felt like you can walk for miles. We were even able to go out and check out the oyster farms.

You can’t go to the Cape and not have lobster roll at least once. Or twice.

Wellfleet still has a drive-in movie theater. Amazingly it still looks like it did when I was 12.

We rented bikes from Orleans Cycle, a small shop right in town located near The Rail Trail. This flat path is excellent for families.

They even had tandem bikes!

Ou trip to Provincetown was not complete until we stopped for some salt water taffy.

The beauty of renting a house is being able to cook dinner at home. When in Cape Cod, you definitely make Lobster!

In prepping for this trip, I created a Pinterest board. Check it out if you are planning a trip to Cape Cod anytime soon.
